Easier-to-use Open Office Software introduced by NECTEC
BANGKOK, June 7 (TNA) - Thailand's National Electronics and Computer Technology (NECTEC) has launched newly-developed Open Office Software that is easier to use and can perform better data evaluation.
The innovation is believed to help reduce Thailand's imports of computer software up to more than one hundred million baht annually.
The new Open Office Software came from NECTEC software developers' achievement in improving the performance of the Open Office Program to work well with Microsoft Excel, with readable Buddhist Era years and fixed problems on font types, repeated typos and erroneous Thai language displays.
The newly-developed software has been introduced to various organizations in Thailand so far, including NECTEC itself, the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand (EGAT) and Thai Life Insurance Company. More agencies or firms interested in the new computer software are welcome to download it free of charge.
NECTEC acknowledged that it is further developing the new computer software for its enlarged data base and its high-end computer virus-proof status. (TNA)
