Defense forces join “Comprehensive Blast Injury Symposium 2011” in Bangkok
BANGKOK, June 7 (TNA) - Over 400 army officers and medical personnel from Thailand, the United States, the Philippines and member countries of the Greater Mekong Sub Region (GMS) gathered in Bangkok on Monday for the Comprehensive Blast Injury Symposium.
The seminar, aimed at flooring exchanges between medical experts from military medical organizations and various hospitals in Thailand and overseas, was presided over by U.S. ambassador to Thailand, Kristie Kenney, and the Supreme Commander of the Royal Thai Armed Forces, General Songkitti Jaggabatara.
Songkitti said the symposium had given participants an opportunity to exchange ideas and gain knowledge of modern medical treatment in a timely manner.
Key discussion topics included On-site Rapid Trauma Assessment, Post-combat Traumatic Brain Injury and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Evaluation, Diagnosis and Treatment. (TNA)
