Telemedicine center to be introduced at cardiology conf

MOSCOW, June 7 (Itar-Tass) - An all-Russia Innovations in Cardiology
conference workshop opens at the Russian cardiological research and
production complex (RKNPK) here on Tuesday.
Participants in the forum, to be presided over by RKNPK General
Director Yevgeny Chazov will discuss innovations in the treatment of
chronic cardiac insufficiency, new medicinal drugs, as well as the impact
of climatic factors on death-rate.
A telemedicine center is to be introduced within the scope of the
conference workshop, an official at the Russian Ministry of Health and
Social Development has told Itar-Tass.
The Health Ministry official pointed out that the purpose of the
Telemedicine programme is qualitatively to raise the level of medical aid
through the introduction of distance medical aid consulting methods to
practice, as well as an exchange of information on the basis of
contemporary research-intensive technologies.
"Telemedicine consulting enables patients in the regions to avail
themselves of advice by specialists from the best Russian clinics free of
charge," the Ministry official emphasized.
