RF Pacific Fleet squadron calls at Shanghai for business visit

VLADIVOSTOK, June 7 (Itar-Tass) - A Russian Pacific Fleet (PF) naval
squadron, consisting of the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Panteleyev
and the rescue tug-boat Fotiy Krylov, arived at Shanghai on Tuesday for a
business visit.
An official in the PF information support group has told Itar-Tass
that during the two-day visit to the People's Republic of China the PF
navy men will replenish fuel and food stocks, tour the sights of the
Chinese megapolis, and hold a series of unofficial get-togethers with
their Chinese counterparts.
The squadron left Vladivostok on May 3 and visited Singapore and the
Indonesian port of Macassar. When in Singapore the Russian ships
participated in the international show of armaments and equioment
IMDEX-2011.
At the close of the show, the PF ships headed for the shores of
Indonesia where they were guests of Macassar port. Apart from taking part
in cultural and sports programme, the Russian navy men held planned joint
exercises together with their Indonesian counterparts in communication,
maneuvering and rescue at sea, and discussed the problems of protecting
navigation from piratic attacks.
