PAUBR session to begin in Minsk Tue with panel meetings

MINSK, June 7 (Itar-Tass) - The 39th session of the Parliamentary
Assembly (PA) of the Union of Belarus and Russia (UBR) begins here on
Tuesday with meetings of commissions.
In particular, matters of current importance that are within the
competence of UBR parliamentarians are to be discussed in commissions on
economic policy, budget and finances, social policy, science, culture and
humanitarian affairs, and foreign policy.
UBR parliamentarians are of the opinion that time has come to
elaborate a new Concept of Security of UBR, for the previous one had been
worked out twelve years ago. According to Anatoly Vankovich, head of the
PA commission on security, defence, and action to combat crime, at the
upcoming session "We intend to officially come forward with the idea of
working out a new edition of the UBR Security Concept".
One of principal items on the agenda of the session, which is to be
held on Wednesday, will deal with the results of the implementation of the
social development concept of the UBR within the period ending in 2010 and
with basic orientations of its social development in a period ending in2
015.
The UBR parliamentarians are also planning to adopt a statement in
connection with the 15th year of the UBR development and consider an item
concerning international activities -- the signing of a Treaty on
cooperation between PAUBR and the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly on
