TS.ELBEGDORJ VISITS PALACE OF PETER THE GREAT
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ In Saint Peterburg, the President of Mongolia visited a summer palace of Peter king and a Gunzechoinei buddhism monastery.
Monks invited the President to the seat of honour, made offerings to the God, and recited a mantra. Then the President gave them a Buddha statuette and wished a success in their deeds.
The monastery was built in 1909 at initiate of Agvaan Dorjiev and funded by Mongolia's Eighth Bogd but was completely destroyed in times of political repression. In 1993 it was rebuilt, with a sound help of the Mongolians.
