Militant who put up resistance killed in Dagestan
. MAKHACHKALA, June 5 (Itar-Tass) - Law enforcers in Dagestan have
killed a militant who put up armed resistance. A source at the Russian
Interior Ministry press service told Itar-Tass that the incident had
occurred in the city of Kizlyar at 23:00 Moscow time on Saturday.
A police patrol tried to stop a light car for inspection. But, in
return, shots were fired from inside the car. The policemen returned fire
and killed the militant who had opened fire at them.
Police are trying to establish the dead man's identity.
