Three golds to Stratton at diving trials
Commonwealth Games gold medallist Sharleen Stratton collected her third gold on Saturday at the world diving selection trials at the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre.
Stratton won the women's three-metre springboard event with a score of 365.55, ahead of Anabelle Smith (344.10) and Sherilyse Gowlett (321.85).
Stratton had already won the one-metre springboard and three-metre synchronised events on Friday.
"I am very happy with my result today. Getting that score in a competition of this standard is awesome," Stratton said.
"I needed to compete well in order to make the team and I did it.
"My shoulder is still a little sore, but I blocked that out and really went for my dives. I'm stoked."
Smith, who collected gold with Stratton in the three-metre synchronised event, was also happy.
"I am really feeling good and enjoyed being pushed so hard by Sharleen today," she said. "I hope I have got enough points to make the team."
The selectors will announce the Australian team next week for the world championships in Shanghai from July 16-23.
