Kan Air, Thailand's new domestic airline, launched

BANGKOK, June 4 (TNA) - Kan Air, Thailand's new domestic airline, launched its inaugural flight on Saturday, from Pitsanulok to Chiang Mai Provinces, both in the country's northern region.

The Kan Air maiden flight attracted a number of passengers, including senior government officials and business operators.

Sompong Suksa-nguan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Kan Air, acknowledged that a bus trip from Pitsanulok to Chiang Mai normally takes as long as six hours, but a Kan Air flight takes only an hour; the latter should be a new convenient choice for travelers who need quick and safe journeys.

The Kan Air CEO said that the newly-launched Thai domestic airline now operates one flight on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays with a 12-seater plane and it will expand its flights and planes if its initial services receive a warm welcome from travelers.

According to the CEO, Kan Air services also cover air cargo trips--aimed to help boost the Thai economy. (TNA)
