Electoral campaigns continuing in Thailand

BANGKOK, June 4 (TNA) - Key figures of all Thai political parties have carried on their vote campaigns to help their candidates in the lead-up to the country's forthcoming general election, set on July 3.
Thai caretaker prime minister and Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva campaigned for votes at the Huay Kwang Market in Bangkok on Saturday, receiving a warm welcome from a number of vendors and local people. Abhisit was scheduled to visit Phetchabun, Lop Buri and Saraburi Provinces in the afternoon to continue his electoral campaigns for Democrat candidates.
Earlier, Abhisit warned that the “vote no” campaign, launched by the yellow-shirt People's Alliance for Democracy (PAD), for the July 3 national poll would only benefit “bad politicians”, suggesting that voters cast their ballots for only good candidates.
Meanwhile, Yingluck Shinawatra, the top list candidate of the Pheu Thai Party, campaigned for votes at the Buengkum housing estate in Bangkok, promising that her party would take good care of the elderly, if elected, especially for their medical services and increased monthly allowances. (TNA)
