Holden Racing Team appoint new manager

SYDNEY (AAP) - Holden Racing Team have moved swiftly to replace team manager Rob Crawford, confirming Mike Henry as the V8 Supercar giant's racing operations manager.
The six-time Bathurst-winning team lost both Crawford and managing director Craig Wilson in the space of a few days last week, prompting talk of a crisis within the Holden factory outfit.
Henry has a long history of administrative roles with Holden teams, having worked as consulting engineer and chief strategist for the HSV Dealer Team and as Tasman Motorsport's team manager.
During his time with the HSV Dealer Team, Henry helped current HRT driver Garth Tander to secure the 2007 drivers' championship.
"It is a fantastic opportunity to lead such a successful and professional racing outfit," said Henry, who had also worked with the Arrows Formula One team.
"I have worked with the wider Walkinshaw Group (HRT owners) on and off for more than 23 years and, most recently, with the Holden Racing Team as a consultant engineer.
"I have had the pleasure of working with the crew previously as a colleague, so entering this new position as a leader should allow the team to get on with the job at hand and remain focused on the next event in Darwin."
HRT will test at Winton Motor Raceway on Monday with the next round at Hidden Valley Raceway in Darwin in two weeks.
