Eqbal: Nujeifi’s visit to Turkey important

Baghdad (NINA) – MP from the Wasat Alliance, Mohammed Eqbal, described the Parliamentary delegation’s visit to Turkey as important under the light of the current developments in the neighboring Arab countries.

In a statement issued today, Eqbal said “the visit focused on the issue of water and releasing more amounts of water from the Turkish side towards Iraq.”

“The Turkish side expressed readiness to cooperate in this field, but, asked the Iraqi side to be more active and build dams, stores, and water channels as Turkey believes that the Iraqi share is enough and is wasted in the gulf, and that the defect is in the water storing and benefiting from it inside Iraq,” Eqbal concluded.
The Iraqi parliamentary delegation is headed by Speaker Osama Al Nujeifi. /End/
