ASEAN Caravan leaves for Japan
BANGKOK, June 2 (TNA) - The ASEAN Caravan of Goodwill left Bangkok on Thursday for Japan to give moral support to tsunami and earthquake victims.
ASEAN Secretary-General Surin Pitsuwan said the Caravan of Goodwill from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) consisted of over 200 artists and young people in Southeast Asia who had tsunami experience.
During the trip, the group would share personnel experiences, exchange cultures, and strengthen long existing bonds between the people of Southeast Asia and Japan.
Surin said cooperation between Japan and Southeast Asia was growing and Japan already expressed its intention to increase investments in Southeast Asia. (TNA)
