Buryatia taking part in Seoul int'l tourist exhibition
ULAN-UDE , June 2 (Itar-Tass) -- Leading tourist companies of Buryatia take part in the international tourist exhibition KOTFA 2011 in Seoul.
A delegation of this Russia region came to Seoul to adopt methods of balneo treatment in Korea to use it while developing Buryatia's resorts "Goryachinsk" (Baikal) and "Arshan" (Eastern Sayany). SPA-resorts are also planned to be built in the special tourist zone "Baikal Harbour."
This zone is being formed on the eastern coast of the lake, 150-180 kilometres from Ulan-Ude. The state invested 1.9 billion roubles in the development of its infrastructure, the volume of private investments amounts to six million roubles. The volume of declared private investments is equal to 36 billion roubles with eight billion of planned state investments.
Since 2016, Buryatia plans to annually receive at least 1.8 million
tourists- - five times more than at present, and render services to the
sum of up to 13 billion roubles a year.
The first stage of the infrastructure of the tourist zone was launched
in late 2010. Nine Russian residents have already registered there.
However, the search for foreign investors and residents is going on.
The first presentation ceremony of common investment possibilities of
Buryatia was held in Seoul on Wednesday. Several sectors of economy were
presented there.
"We and Koreans show mutual interest in each other. We'd like to have
cooperation reached the level of concrete joint projects," head of
Buryatia Vyscheslav Nagovitsin said estimating the results of the
presentation.
