About 450 public organisations join All-Russia People's Front
MOSCOW, June 2 (Itar-Tass) -- About 450 public organisations and
movements have joined the All-Russia People's Front initiated by Prime
Minister and United Russia leader Vladimir Putin.
"The formation of the All-Russia People's Front is in a rather
advanced stage and we can largely speak of its operation. Sixteen
all-Russia public organisations and 429 regional, inter-regional and local
organisations have joined it up to date," Putin's spokesman Dmitry Peskov
said.
Another 173 organisations have submitted their admission requests.
"The All-Russia People's Front will not confine itself only to federal
public organisations. We plan to go out to the hinterland in order to
foster dialogue and attract public organisations, not necessarily
registered ones. We regard them as potential supporters of the Front,"
Peskov said.
On June 2, Vice Prime Minister Vyacheslav Volodin, who runs the Fron't
headquarters in Moscow, will meet with the leaders of federal public
organisations that have already joined the Front in order to "synchronise
watches" on pressing issues and determine common topics.
Volodin also plans to meet representatives of local and regional
organisations that have joined the Front. "It is important that he will
meet new people and learn about their initiatives," Peskov said.
