Sadr asks clergy to declare "the religious position vis-à-vis occupation
Najaf (NINA) – Muqtada Al Sadr sent a message to clerics; Murtadha Al Qazweeni and Mohammad Taqi Al Mudarrisi, which included questions to indicate their attitude towards the presence of U.S. troops in Iraq and the extension for their stay.
According to a statement of the Political Commission of the Sadr office which said that Mustafa Al Yacoubi, envoy of Al Sadr, visited clerics Qazweeni and Mudarrisi in Karbala and submitted Muqtada’s questions about "the religious stance vis-à-vis the occupation and not to allow the extension of its stay in iraq, to make that a pressure card on the Iraqi government against the occupation stay."
The statement quoted cleric Qazweeni as saying "I am ready to submit all what you have said from the depths of my heart."
He continued "I have declared again and again my clear position towards the occupation and called for ousting the occupation out of Iraq," calling on Sadr to double his efforts and struggle, verbally and through his work and his heart, to oust the occupation.
