Kinani: Iraqi security forces capable of preserving security
Baghdad (NINA) – Ameer Al Kinani, from Ahrar Bloc, said “the security forces are capable of preserving security in Iraq as these forces comprise more than one million personnel, therefore, no need for the US forces after 2011.”
Media office of the Sadr Trend quoted Kinani as saying “the continuation of counting on the occupation forces is unjustified, Iraq relied on them for eight years and this cannot go any longer. The demands for extending the US forces stay are nothing but political bids by parties benefiting from the American presence,” declining from naming these parties.
“The party entitled to decide the US forces stay or departure is the Iraqi government, not the parliament, since the government is entitled to holding treaties and agreements, as well as specifying Iraq’s external policies,” he added.
