Barzani confirms to Talabani importance of their alliance to protect the Kurdish gains
Erbil (NINA) - The Kurdish President Massoud Barzani stressed on the strategic importance of the alliance with the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan to protect the Kurdish gains.
A statement of the Kurdistan presidency said Barzani, in a telephone call, congratulated President Jalal Talabani on the occasion of the anniversary of the establishment of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Talabani’s party, and wished him success.
The statement quoted Barzani's emphasis on "strengthening bilateral relations and alliance as a guarantee for the protection and development of the gains and to achieve more success and achievements for the people of Kurdistan."
The statement pointed out that Talabani expressed his thanks to Barzani, wishing that coordination and unity between the two sides will be in the service of higher interests and crucial issues of people of Kurdistan.
