Arab Foreign Ministers hold session 5 Cairo
Prince Saud pointed out that under this situation, Israel persists in
its aggressive policies, avoids the peace process and intensifies the
building of settlements in an attempt to change the situation on the
ground, to empty the negotiations of their substance and relevance.
Sensing the danger of these practices, Saudi Arabia has submitted in
coordination with the Palestinian Authority a draft resolution to be
submitted by the Arab group in New York to the Security Council.
It is appropriate that the Council of Arab Ministers deliberates the
subject that the Arab Group demands holding a ministerial meeting of
the Security Council to discuss the issue of settlements.
He welcomed positive security developments in Iraq over the last
period in confronting terrorism and militias, the growing capacity of
national military institutions which began to assume responsibility
of security in areas of Iraq and indicators of political movement. We
hope that will develop and expand to achieve comprehensive national
reconciliation among all Iraqi people whose commitment becomes clear
to the unity of Iraq and rejection of violence, subversion and
sedition among citizens of Iraq.
