Aden looks forward to receiving German support
ADEN, Sep 08 (Saba) - Aden governor Adnan al-Jafari talked on Monday
with an expert of German Development Bank Mr. Bernhard Shinto over
support to be provided by the bank in the disposal of solid waste.
During their meeting, al-Jafari briefed Shinto over the expanding
field of health in the province through building private hospitals
and clinics, which led to the increasing amount of hazardous medical
waste.
He affirmed the importance of benefiting from the German experiences
in the field of waste recycling, noting the quantity of waste in
Aden reached 300,000 tones per day.
Al-Jafari praised support provided by the German government to
rehabilitate sanitation and water sector in Yemen in addition to the
current support for the disposal of solid waste.
"We hope the German side to increase support provided to the
province in the area of waste disposal", said al-Jafari.
For his part, Mr. Shinto expressed his country's keenness to
establish such projects in Aden, particularly in the area of
sanitation, water and disposal of solid waste, aiming to reduce
waste production and support Yemen's efforts in preserving
environment.
