Thailand organizes activities to mark World No Tobacco Day

BANGKOK, June 1 (TNA) - Anti-smoking campaigns have been held across Thailand to mark the World No Tobacco Day on May 31 this year.

The essence of this year’s advocacy called for better protection for non-smokers, who were associated with second-hand smoking risks.

In the capital city of Bangkok, people gathered at Siriraj Hospital for anti-smoking exhibitions and talk shows, joined by ex-smokers and celebrities.

The Ministry of Public Health meanwhile, had been organizing similar activities since last week, highlighted by anti-smoking parades.

In the southern province of Songkhla, local communities and hospitals marched down local roads to call for awareness on smoking hazards. One of most outstanding demands called for the enforcement of smoke-free public spaces. (TNA)
