DEPUTY PREMIER MEETS UK MINISTER


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Deputy Premier M.Enkhbold met Monday Mr. Jeremy Richard Browne MP, the Minister of State at the Foreign Office of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and Mrs. Thorda Abbott-Watt, the UK ambassador to Mongolia.
Beginning the meeting, the Deputy Premier has expressed a hope that the first visit of the Minister of State at the Foreign Office would intensify the Mongolia-UK relations and cooperation. Mentioning that the UK is one of the biggest partners of Mongolia in Europe, the Deputy Premier has expressed a confidence that the UK will support Mongolia in its establishing a partnership and cooperation agreement with the European Union (EU) in September-October this year. He also has said an inter-governmental meeting of Mongolia and the UK will be held soon.
In turn, Mr. Browne has expressed thanks to M.Enkhbold for the audience, and briefed about his working visit to Mongolia. He has underlined that the UK is ready to support Mongolia to establish the Mongolia-EU partnership and cooperation agreement.
M.Enkhbold has said Mongolian athletes have been qualified for the London 2012 Olympic Games in events of shooting and marathon, and hoped the Olympic rights for judo, wrestling and others sports will be obtained as well. later. He has said the Mongolian jockeys may compete in the Olympic Games, and thanked the UK for a decision to give assistance of 25 thousand Pound Sterling to every developing country to boost sports.
