RUSSIA-MONGOLIA BUSINESS FORUM HELD WITH MONGOLIAN PRESIDENT


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ On Monday, Russia-Mongolia business forum ran in the International Trade Center of Moscow. Bringing together some 80 people, the forum has been opened by V.P.Strashko, the vice president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (CCIRF).
Several reports have been delivered--by G.Ochirkhuyag, a deputy chairman of the Foreign Investment and Foreign Trade Agency of Mongolia (FIFTA), by B.Ariunsan, the Vice Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, and by other officials from Mongolia's Ministries and agencies. The president of the National Foundation for Small- and Middle-sized Businessmen of Russia and a deputy head of Russia-Mongolia business council S.B.Paraskeva has given a report on the Russia-Mongolia cooperation and projects for Russian and Mongolian businessmen.
Others have sounded their views and opinions in reports--I.V.Kudrin, a director-general of the “INEZOTEH” company; A.T.Venediktov, a head of the Representative Leading Council of the “Buryatmyasprom” company; G.Zandanshatar, the Foreign Minister of Mongolia; and T.Ochirkhuu, a head of the “Ulaanbaatar” Joint Stock Venture.
The President of Mongolia Ts.Elbegdorj has delivered a speech at the forum in frames of his official visit to the Russian Federation. He has talked about the close relations between Mongolia and the Russia, adding "the Mongolians always want to be close to Russians".
Ts.Elbegdorj has said his Office and the government ought to take into consideration the Russians' proposals in order to forward the bilateral relations, which "must be brought to a newer level".
Talking about the financial and agricultural sectors, the President has said 20 years ago Mongolia had 25 million heads of livestock, now it has reached 45 million. He has said it is possible to trade with Russia selling to it meat and leather products. “There is a large difference between the trade turnover of our countries. My country is buying products costing over one billion US dollars from Russia, whereas Mongolia is exporting products of 40 million US dollars to Russia. I will pay a special attention to this matter,” Ts.Elbegdorj has stressed, adding that he wants Russia to run its energy and gas pipes on territory of Mongolia.
The President has noted that many opportunities have been created in Mongolia in many fields, and requested the Russian businessmen to visit Mongolia and to get new partners.
