3 Russians injured in traffic accident in India
NEW DELHI, May 31 (Itar-Tass) - Three Russian got injured in a traffic
accident in India's northern state of Haryana, when a tourist bus rammed
into a truck, a diplomat with the Russian embassy in India told Itar-Tass
on Tuesday.
"A Russian family of three persons was inside the tourist bus. They
got minor injuries. They were offered on-site medical help. No
hospitalization was needed," said Vasily Pronin, the head of the embassy's
consular department.
In all, there were 45 tourists from Russia, the Netherlands, Italy,
Germany, and Spain inside the bus. Passengers received minor injuries.
Later, they were taken to the Indian capital by another bus. One man, a
tourist from the Netherlands, was hospitalized with a broken arm.
The accident took place at 05:30 a.m. local time (04:00 a.m. Moscow
time). The bus was bound from the city of Dharamsala in the state of
Himchal Pradesh to New Delhi.
According to statistics, the bulk of traffic accidents in India are
caused by violations of traffic rules, obsolete cars and the poor
condition of motor roads. Thus, more than 100,000 are killed and 400,000
injured in traffic accident in India annually.
