STATE HEAD GIVES LECTURE


Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj gave Monday a lecture themed "Global climate change" to students, istructors and scholars of the Lomonosov Moscow State University (LMSU) in Moscow.
The President has shared views with the gathered on changes brought by increasing global warming, a potential of humankind to reduce their negative effects, features of the many thousand-year nomadic life.
The gathered have asked the President about the cause of the global climate change, 20-year prediction of the earth, negative sides of development of the mining sector, solution of the water shortage, and plan of diving in Khovsgol Lake.
The President has said when he was diving, he admired Russia's achievements and underlined he will support scientific works on Baikal and Khovsgol Lakes.
Then the President has launched a lively talk about nature protection, friendly relations between the two countries, and cultural ties including languages. The university's rector Viktor Sadovnichiy has said a number of their Mongolian students used to be 50 every year, now this figure has dropped to six. He has expressed a satisfaction with maintaining the long-year cultural ties of the two countries although a majority of the Mongolian youths prefer other languages to the Russian. Then he has handed the President a book named "Mongolian Grammatics" published in 1835.
