STANDING COMMITTEE HEAD MEETS MRS. SINANOGLU
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A head of the parliamentary Standing committee on social policy, education, culture and science D.Ochirbat met Monday Mrs. Sezin Sinanoglu, the UN Resident Coordinator and UNDP Resident Representative to Mongolia.
Mrs. Sinanoglu has expressed a willingness to collaborate with Mongolia in implementing goals of the law on ensuring the equality of gender, approved by parliament, and then asked about a course of talks concerning a quota of women MPs in parliament, and a law on elections.
She has raised an issue of systems of social welfare and health insurance, and said she would cooperate in it. She has said that want parliament to discuss the quota of women MPs when considering the draft law on elections.
Mrs. Sinanoglu has given a report on a small project implemented in the social welfare, including the health insurance, and said the UNDP and UN specialized organizations may give technical assistance and support.
