DRAFT AMENDMENTS SUBMITTED
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A draft amendment to the law on altering the Constitution of Mongolia has been submitted to the Parliament Speaker D.Demberel. It has been initiated by MPs D.Damba-Ochir, D.Oskhuu and D.Khayankhyarvaa.
The initiators have said it is time to resume the status of cities of Erdenet, Darkhan, Choir and Bor-Ondor because of an intensive development lasting for 17 years. In accordance with the Constitution, these administrative units have status of soum. The MPs elected from Erdenet have underlined 76.6 per cent of Orkhon aimag's people want to make Erdenet an independent city of the state.
