PEACEKEEPERS AWARDED

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ A ceremonial event took place Saturday on the Sukhbaatar Square for the International Day of Peacekeepers. Present at the event were the Prime Minister S.Batbold; the Defense Minister L.Bold; head of the Presidential Office D.Battulga; members of parliament and government; authorities of the General Headquarters of Mongolian Armed Forces (GHMAF); ambassadors of foreign countries to Mongolia; defense and military attachés; honorary guests and officers of military units.
During the ceremony, state prizes and the Medal for Peace have been awarded to Mongolian servicemen who served in the peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan for contribution to the peacekeeping international activities pursuant to a decree of the President of Mongolia and Commander-in-Chief Ts.Elbegdorj.
The Red Flag of Military Merit has been bestowed upon Colonel P.Batjargal, a head of the GHMAF's section. The Order of Military Merit has been awarded to Lieutenant-Colonel Ch.Boldbaatar, first head of the 303th military unit; Lieutenant-Colonel D.Ganzorig, an expert of the National Security Council's (NSC) office. In addition to them, the Honorary Medal of Military and the Medal for Peace went to military officers and servicemen.
