MP: IS and SLC might finish selecting security ministers soon
Baghdad (NINA) – MP from State of Law Coalition, Shaker Al Darraji, said he believes that the near future shall witness agreement between Iraqiya Slate and SLC on the candidates for the security ministries and pass this phase, which confound the political process.
Daraji said, in a statement to NINA "the meetings between IS and SLC blocs brought together the viewpoints and reached an advanced stage in terms of applying Erbil agreement, and the desire of head of IS, Dr. Iyad Allawi, to return and assume the presidency of the National Council for Strategic Policies."
"These meetings reduced the severity of the tension between the political blocs, especially the statements that have taken place recently and the exchanged letters which created crises in the Iraqi street even before worsening political relations," he added.
Darraji concluded by saying "there is an agreement between IS and SLC that paves the way for the formation of the NCSP, but, the problem lies in the role of the Council, would it be consultative or executive, as the IS insists on making it an executive, while SLC wishes that it would be advisory council.”
