Zibari, Salihi discuss outstanding issues

Baghdad (NINA) – Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zibari met in Jakarta today his Iranian counterpart, Ali Akbar Salihi.

The Iraqi Foreign Ministry said in a statement on Thursday "that during the meeting, the bilateral issues were reviewed, both ministers expressed their satisfaction regarding the operational procedures relating to the borders that are being conducted by specialized technical committees from both countries and the procedures to set up technical committees to follow up on the issue of water and arrangements taken by the Iraqi authorities to organize the religious visits."

The ministry noted in the statement that the meeting took place on the margins of the sixteenth ministerial meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement being held in Bali-Indonesia."

also, the Iranian Foreign Minister expressed his country's support to Iraq's demand to host the 39th Ministerial Meeting of the Organization of Islamic Conference in Baghdad next year and that Iran would take appropriate action in this regard during the (38) meeting of foreign ministers of Islamic countries due to be held in Astana / Kazakhstan by the end of next June.
