U.S. Embassy helps youth to develop critical skills
Islamabad, May 26, 2011 (PPI): The U.S. Embassy hosted a public speaking workshop at Fatima Jinnah Women University on Thursday. Assistant Cultural Affairs Officer Jason Seymour led the seminar, which provided public speaking and debate tips and tools to 40 students from the University.
The Embassy has recently sponsored a number of events that both provide encouragement for the academic pursuits of local students and focus on the art of public speaking, a skill that has a dramatic impact on the success of students and professionals. These events include workshops and a competition that was held in March.
”The United States has a strong commitment to promoting education in Pakistan and helping students discover and sharpen their talents, said ACAO Seymour. The Embassy, along with a large network of active alumni of U.S. government-funded exchange programs, conducts many activities designed to promote education, including college fairs and interactive events with Pakistani and American experts in a variety of fields.
The Embassy in Pakistan administers the U.S. government’s largest educational and cultural programs in the world. These programs are important components of the U.S. commitment to provide educational opportunities for Pakistani students, increase people-to-people ties, and build a partnership with Pakistan.
