STATE HEAD MEETS J.APPATHURAI
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj received Thursday a delegation headed by Mr. James Appathurai, the NATO Secretary General's representative for the security policy and partnership relations affairs.
The sides have shared views on the relations and cooperation between Mongolia and the NATO. The President has expressed a satisfaction with a visit of the NATO's high officials, and underlined Mongolia has an aspiration to develop close cooperation with the NATO in a scope of its open, independent and multi-pillar foreign policy for peace, stability, democracy and common values. He has pointed out that Mongolia wants to have a status of the NATO's partner.
Mr. Appathurai has said he arrived here in order to implement the NATO's program on partnership with the world's all countries, at the first turn in Mongolia, and reported the NATO will develop the relations and cooperation with Mongolia. He has underlined that Mongolia has been contributing to the NATO activities with UN mandate by sending its instructors to Afghanistan.
