PRESIDENT RECEIVES JACK WEATHERFORD

Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The President Ts.Elbegdorj met Tuesday Jack Weatherford, a professor of anthropology at Macalester College.
The President has congratulated Mr. Weatherford on his books dedicated to the Mongolian history, culture, traditions and custom and selected as the best works of 2011.
In response, Mr. Weatherford has said he is very happy that written several years ago one of his books on the conquest of the Mongolians is still in the center of attention of mankind, emphasizing that role and patriotism of the Mongolians significantly contributed to creating this book and to selecting it as the best.
"I thank all Mongolians for this," he has said and added that plans to do more things for developing studies of Mongolian history and for making the Mongolian young generation being fascinated by the history.
For more than 30 years Mr. Weatherford has been researching the Mongols' history and conquests. He published a book named "Genghis Khan and the Making of the Modern World" in 2004 and another book named "The Secret History of the Mongol Queens: How the Daughters of Genghis Khan Rescued His Empire" in 2010. For the contribution to introducing the Mongolian history to the world, he was awarded the Friendship Medal last year.
