Maliki: availability of investment environment, legislations created opportunity to start construction

Baghdad (NINA) - Prime Minister Nouri Al Maliki said "availability of the investment environment as well as the guarantor Iraqi legislations provided the opportunity to launch construction and reconstruction process."

A statement issued by Maliki's office today, quoted him as saying in the opening speech of the Iraqi-Czech businessmen forum, yesterday "we are proud that we were able to make Iraq more attractive place to investment."

Maliki expressed thanks to the Czech Premier, who came to Iraq heading a large ministers and businessmen delegation to contribute in the reconstruction of Iraq."

For his part, Czech Prime Minister Peter Nitchass said "Iraq and the Czech Republic marched on the road of freedom and democracy, paving the way for further cooperation between the two countries."

The Forum was attended by Iraqi Parliament Speaker Osama Al Nujeifi and Deputy Primes; Rowsch Nouri Shaways, and Hussein Shahristani, and a number of officials and businessmen and investors in both countries.
