Youths urged to acquaintance with literature
Karachi, May 24, 2011 (PPI): Sindh minister for youth affairs Syed Faisal Ali Sabzwari Tuesday urged the youths to acquaintance with literature and culture to know about their rich cultural and social values.
He was addressing at the prize distribution ceremony at the Arts Council of Pakistan here to give away prizes to the winners of a poetry (Bait-bazi) competition. He said his department would continue to arrange programs for youth to provide healthy extra-curricular activities to them.
The first prize was bagged by Ali Raza and Mohsin Ali of the Government Degree College Korangi, while Shahzadi Kanwal and Shagufta Naz of the Pakistan Debate Society got the second position. Aisha Saleem and Muhammad Ali Soz of the Karachi University stood third.
Special prizes were given to Zaheer Zafar and Rafia Awan of Federal Urdu University of Arts, Science and Technology (FUUAST) and Affan Kaleem and Um-e-Konain of the Baqai Medical University.
