“Yingluck” confident of Pheu Thai winning more seats in Bangkok

BANGKOK, May 24 (TNA) - The Pheu Thai Party’s No 1 party-list MP candidate Yingluck Shinawatra has expressed her confidence that her party would win more House seats in the July 3 general election.

Yingluck led her party’s 33 constituency MP candidates to their registration at the Thai-Japanese youth sport center in Din Daeng district on Tuesday.

In response to Caretaker Prime Minister and Democrat leader Abhisit Vejjajiva’s claim that Bangkok was a political stronghold of the Democrat Party, Yingluck said she would wait and see the result of the election for the decision rested with voters.

She said she believed Pheu Thai would win more house seats in Bangkok as her party’s opinion surveys showed that its candidates were the favorites in the capital city. She went on to say she had received a very warm welcome in her campaign trips.

Yingluck added that her security measures had not been intensified and were continuing as normal. She said she hoped people would welcome Pheu Thai candidates to campaign for votes in all areas, to ensure a fair election. (TNA)
