Al-Arhabi acquaints UK official with local development

SANA'A, Sep. 07 (Saba)- Deputy Premier for Economic Affairs,
Minister of Planning and International Cooperation Abdul-Karim
al-Arhabi held on Sunday an extended meeting with the British
International Development Ministry mission, headed by Director
General of Middle East Region in the Ministry Mark Lokuke.

During the meeting, al-Arhabi discussed the existing cooperation
aspects between Yemen and UK, explaining nature of accomplishments
achieved by Yemen concerning the application of the national agenda
for reforms.

He pointed out that applying reforms gains interest and direct
supervision of the Yemeni political leadership represented by
President Ali Abdullah Saleh and embodies availability of Yemeni
political will to make change to the best.

Al-Arhabi confirmed Yemen's decision to go forward in applying
reforms.

He reviewed all challenges still confronting Yemen development
abilities, indicating that poverty is the major challenge and the
government good economic policies contributed to declining food
poverty rate in Yemen from 17 % to 11 %.

The minister pointed out that foodstuff price rise crisis reflected
negatively on this progress.
