Doha, May 23 (QNA) - The First Regional Conference on the International Criminal Court (ICC) will open here tomorrow, Tuesday at Ritz Carlton Hotel.
The two -day conference is organized by the Public Prosecution Department in cooperation with the Arab League .
The conference aims to provide information about the function of International Criminal Court (ICC) and its Treaty (known as the Rome Statute) as well as the legal framework, mechanisms that safeguard that ensure the independence of the International Criminal Court (ICC), the policy of the Prosecutor's Office and ways to promote the protection of rights of the defense and victims in court proceedings.
The conference agenda includes t holding of six panel discussions dealing with crimes within the jurisdiction of the Court and other related issues. (QNA)
