Aviation IT forum in Moscow draws over 120 specialists
MOSCOW, May 24 (Itar-Tass) - Over 120 specialists representing the
world's leading companies and the airports of Russia, the Commonwealth of
Independent States, Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and
Southeast Asia take part in the fourth international Aviation IT Forum
opening here on Tuesday.
Alexei Komarov, chairman of the forum's organizing committee, has told
Itar-Tass, "Information technologies have long become the critical
component of aviation business. Success and competitiveness of companies
operating in various sectors of the air transportation market depend to an
increasing extent on their introduction. IT-solutions are among key
conditions for optimizing aviation business, reducing costs and managing
incomes more effectively. In the present-day world, success of the
production activity of every enterprise depends in many respects on their
effectiveness".
Komarov said a wise use of information technologies "is a major
instrument for increasing the volumes of sales".
"Russian information technologies are at a fairly high level. However,
it will be of benefit for our participants, who represent air companies,
airports and firms that develop electronic systems to familiarize
themselves with the world's latest achievements in this sphere, and
discuss development trends," Komarov emphasized.
Representatives of the International Air Trasport Association, and
such world giants in the field of aviation IT-systems as Amadeus, Saber,
Travelport, and the domestic Transport Clearing Chamber take part in the
forum's proceedings.
Participants in the forum are also to examine such topical problems as
the management of airport in setback situations, the use of electronic
documents, IT-soutions for effective operation of the airliners, and a cut
in direct expenses, optimization of IT-solutions in the event of a merger
of air companies or the establishment of partnership.
