Qatar Not Affected by Fukushima Reactors Accident - Ministry
Doha, May 23 (QNA) - The Ministry of Environment has announced that the results of radiological analysis of all environmental foodstuff samples have proved that Qatar has not been affected by the nuclear accident which recently hit the reactors in Fukushima, Japan.
In this regard , the Ministry of Environment said that in response to raise the threat level in the Fukushima reactor to the maximum degree after the nuclear accident that has plagued this reactor, the ministry has formed a working team to conduct radioactive analysis of samples of the environment and foodstuff in various areas across the State with the aim of the vulnerability of the State of Qatar to this incident.
The Ministry of Environment through its various departments has been implementing a number environmental projects and programs that aim to protect and conserve natural resources, combat all types and sources of pollution, and protect the health and safety of the community.
The Ministry also runs a number of projects within the framework of environmental conservation and the prevention of radiation such as the early warning center for the prevention of radiation as one of the most prominent projects of the Ministry of Environment to deal with nuclear accidents and radiation.
