Procurement Directorate of Qatar Foundation Hold 5th Vendor Symposium
Doha, May 32(QNA) - Procurement Directorate of Qatar Foundation (QF) for Education, Science and Community Development(QF) recently held the fifth annual Vendor Symposium at Education City.
The symposium is an initiative aimed at reaching out to the Directorate s current and potential partners, as well as to government agencies, which have supported Qatar Foundation s programs and initiatives in developing and diversifying Qatar s economy. Procurement Directorate provides various business units which operate at Qatar Foundation with an array of convenient and cost effective supply chain management services which offer protective terms and compliance with applicable policies and laws.
As part of the Vendor Symposium a number of vendor partners were rewarded for their excellence in quality, delivery and commitment to products and services. Among those rewarded were Al Bayan Trading and Al Jazeera Printing Press which received honorary mementos and certificates.
Opening the event, Rashid Al Naimi, Vice President of Administration said, "Qatar Foundation s slogan Unlocking Human Potential is expressed beautifully by the coming together of our valuable partners. We are striving to work together as true partners. This is a long journey and we are at the beginning of it. In line with Qatar National Vision 2030, we are endeavoring to be a regional procurement centre of excellence, providing services with highest standards.
"We value our partners, listen to them, and acknowledge the important contributions they make for Qatar Foundation", Mr. Al Naimi added.
The symposium was structured to give vendors and visitors a perspective of procurement functions, capital projects and finance directorate, with representatives taking attendees on a virtual tour on how the ideals of the directorates align with those of Qatar Foundation.
During a presentation to the gathering, Mohamed al Suwaidi, Director, Procurement Directorate, said, "We would like to thank our partners and look forward to work closely with them in the future. No matter how small is the size of the vendor company, it is the end result and success that matters. We are a collective entity and don t believe in the traditional segmented philosophy of partner and client . We strive to engage vendors in the overall development of the Foundation and the nation and we are committed to support local businesses and service providers."
