SPEAKER MEETS BRITISH PARLIAMENTARY DELEGATION
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ The Parliament Speaker D.Demberel met Monday a visiting delegation headed by Andrew R. Rosindell, a member of the House of Commons of the UK and a leader of the Britain-Mongolian parliamentary group.
Beginning the meeting, the Speaker has underlined the Mongolia-UK relations and cooperation have been developing successfully, and the UK is one of the European countries to have the biggest ties in commercial and economic sectors. The Speaker has expressed a satisfaction with a present situation of the inter-parliamentary cooperation and with mutual high-level visits. Mr. Demberel has emphasized an importance of the cooperation of the legislative bodies including the ties and collaboration of the friendship groups and MPs for the Mongolia-UK relations and cooperation.
D.Demberel has said Mongolians always thank the UK for supporting the democracy of Mongolia and rendering assistance, and then spoken about an opportunity to develop collaboration in the mining sector. Mentioning that Mongolia has got ready to sign the partnership and cooperation agreement to be established between Mongolia and the European Union, D.Demberel has expressed a confidence the UK will support Mongolia in the matter.
In response, Mr. Rosindell has expressed thanks to the Speaker on behalf of the British parliamentary authorities and members of the group for an audience, and then said he is satisfied with visiting Mongolia for the first time.
The British parliamentary delegation has expressed a willingness to deepen the inter-parliamentary relations including the ties of the friendship groups and parliamentarians.
Present at the meeting were R.Amarjargal MP, a leader of the Mongolia-British parliamentary group; S.Oyun MP; Ts.Sharavdorj, the secretary of the Parliamentary Office; Thorda Abbott-Watt, the ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Mongolia; and other officials.
The same day, R.Amarjargal met the British parliamentary delegation, and then signed a cooperation memorandum between the parliamentary groups.
