Registration of constituency MPs to kick off in Thailand
BANGKOK, May 23 (TNA) - The registration of constituency candidates for Thailand’s July 3 election will begin on Tuesday, nationwide.
Registrations in the capital of Bangkok will take place at the Thai-Japanese Youth Sport Center in Din Daeng district.
In Lampang province, candidates will be registered at the provincial hall. Local election authorities admitted they were not expecting the arriving candidates and supporters to cause any problem because the candidates had already been assigned their numbers.
Separately, authorities in Yala province said they were not concerned about competition among candidates, but were worried about their safety, especially during the night.
In Pattani province, local election authorities have planned to implement a project to promote reconciliation among candidates of different parties, to ensure peaceful campaigning. (TNA)
