RF-Germany year of science, education, innovations to open in RF

MOSCOW, May 23 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian Minister of Education and
Science Andrei Fursenko and German Federal Minister of Education and
Research Annette Schavan will open the Russian-German Year of Science,
Education and Innovations at the Moscow State University here on Monday.
The Russian Ministry of Education and Science reported that the
countries will cooperate in three trends, namely the support of young
scientists and cooperation in vocational education, academic mobility and
exchanges, as well as innovation cooperation.
Joint research centers will be created, a Russian-German academy of
young scientists will open, Annette Schavan noted. The countries will give
an equal attention to natural sciences, humanities and social sciences in
scientific cooperation, the minister said.
During this year Russia and Germany are planning to hold more than 200
events, including joint conferences of leading universities and
enterprises, symposiums, round table meetings and seminars.
The Russian Ministry of Education and Science noted that
Russian-German cooperation in science and research is strategic, as the
countries signed an agreement to this effect five years ago.
