Ministry of Electricity, Iran's Ministry of Oil conclude MoU to import natural gas
Baghdad (NINA) – The Ministry of Electricity signed a Memo of Understanding with Iran's Ministry of Oil to import Iranian natural gas.
Spokesman for the Ministry of Electricity said that the MoU was signed by a technical committee headed by the Ministry's Undersecretary, Ra'ad al-Haris, for Iraq and a delegation representing Iran's Ministry of Oil, headed by its Undersecretary Jawad Terji.
He added that the MoU includes the construction of pipeline with a capacity of transporting 25 million cubic meters of gas a day for five years, to supply Sadr and Quds power stations, until Masouriya gas field starts production in 2015.
The spokesman added that the MoU has been referred to the Council of Ministers for approval and then to Parliament to be officially ratified.
