IED against American convoy in Diyala province
Baquba (NINA) – An improvised explosive device went off on Sunday evening, May 22, against an American convoy northeast of Baquba, Diyala province.
Security source told NINA that an improvised explosive device went off while an American convoy was crossing Halwan Bridge in Jalawla district, northeast Baquba; the size of losses suffered by the American forces could not be determined because of the security cordon imposed around the site.
On the other hand, the source pointed out that Iraqi forces are taking strict security measures around government offices in Diyala province after having received intelligence reports that armed groups intend to carry out attacks aimed to destabilized the province's stability.
