Active border trade resumes at Thailand’s Chong Sa-ngam border pass

BANGKOK, May 22 (TNA) - Active border trade resumes at the Chong Sa-ngam border pass near the Thai-Cambodian border in Phu Sing district of the northeastern Thai province of Si Sa Ket.
A local market was packed with Cambodian buyers Sunday morning. Local authorities said Thai and Cambodian people were more confident of situations along the border as border clashes already stopped.
About 1,000 Cambodian people from Preah Vihear, Oddar Meanchey Siem Reap, Kampong Cham, and Kampot provinces arrived with their vehicles, motorcycles and bicycles at the border gate early Sunday morning to wait for its opening. They brought torches, packs of dry grass roofing, and forest products including mushrooms for sales on the Thai side.
Just when the border gate was opened, Cambodian people rushed to the Thai market to buy consumer goods and food products including rambutan, durian and coconut. (TNA)
