Boxing -- Russia's Lebedev defeats legendary Roy Jones in Moscow

MOSCOW, May 22 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian Denis Lebedev, the first on the
World Boxing Organization rating list, defeated ex-world champion in four
weight classes and ex-absolute 79.38-kg-class champion American Roy Jones.
The fight ended with a knockdown in the last, tenth, round, seconds
before the time expired.
It was Lebedev's 22nd win (17 knockdowns), with one defeat. Jones had
the eighth defeat, the third in succession, with 54 wins (40 knockdowns).
This event is the most significant in Russia's professional boxing in
several years.
Jones is the second famous boxer, after ex-world absolute
superheavy-weight champion Evander Holyfield, who agreed to appear on the
ring in the Russian capital. According to unofficial information, Jones
will receive about 500,000 dollars for the match.
Thus, Lebedev has rehabilitated himself after the last defeat in the
fight for the world champion title he lost to German Marco Huck in
December 2010, while Jones's carrier is in question -- it is the fourth
defeat in the last six matches.
