Kaliningrad to host meeting of Russian, German, Polish FMs

MOSCOW, May 21 (Itar-Tass) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov
on Saturday will hold talks in the main city of Russia's westernmost
exclave of Kaliningrad with his Polish and German counterparts, Radoslaw
Sikorski and Guido Westerwelle.
"During the talks, for the first time to be held at the ministerial
level, there will be discussed a wide range of targets for developing
cooperation among the three parties in European affairs, including the
current agenda of Russia-EU relations, Russia-NATO and international and
regional organizations," sources at the Russian Foreign Ministry said.
The ministers will also examine the feasibility of trilateral
projects, the launch of joint initiatives in various practical areas,
which are aimed at enhancing cooperation among the foreign ministries,
inter-parliamentary and inter-regional exchanges, and cultural,
humanitarian, educational and scientific contacts. Particular attention
will be paid to the development of the external relations of the
Kaliningrad region.
The agenda includes the foreign ministers' meeting with the region's
Governor Nikolai Tsukanov and an audience of students and teachers of the
Immanuel Kant Baltic Federal University.
