UN EXPERT WORKS IN MONGOLIA
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ An official of the Basel Institute on Governance Mr. c worked May 11-17 in Mongolia at an invitation of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). He has worked here in order to present to Mongolia a report on evaluation of implementation of the United Nations Convention against Corruption in Mongolia.
Mr. Pereira has met with officials of the bodies in charge of realizing the UN Convention such as the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the State General Prosecutors Office, the Bank of Mongolia, the Anti-Corruption Agency; and civil society and private organizations. He has introduced to them the report, and then attended discussions organized in the Supreme Court, the City's Prosecutor Office and the Ministry of Justice and Internal Affairs. These discussions have raised issues on unified understanding concerning anti-corruption activities, using the UN convention in reality, and refining upon national laws on anti-corruption accommodating it with the UN Convention's concepts.
